"Oh?" He followed with a dreamy sort of look in his eyes, still smiling contently from the kiss. Modesty was really the only thing that held either of them back from an onslaught of kisses or a full blown make-out session in full view of everyone.
"Are you sure I don't need to change?" Helios knows better than to continue on with the subject of quidditch. Selene was right. Teaching him would rob them of being able to meet up like this and Elon was hard to convince otherwise, even if Selene had managed to save their star player from being permanently benched. Maybe that was part of his leniency for allowing Selene to study on the field during Gryffindor practice. Maybe one day he'll be captain and it won't matter. Until then, it was still kind of cute how Selene seemed to think everything he did on the field was worthy of praise.
"You know you didn't have to get me anything."
Again, it's modesty speaking here. They both know they don't need to get anything for each other but... still they surprise each other in little ways. Modesty doesn't stop them in this part of their relationship and it sure doesn't stop him the warm feelings bubbling inside Helios.
"Good thing I didn't, then," Selene laughed, reaching behind to surreptitiously lace his fingers with Helios'. "But I think you'll be pleased anyway."
It wasn't late enough for the castle to be deserted. Students still wandered, even after the supper rush died down; late class-goers, club meetings, library regulars and loiterers still plagued the halls. But Selene had done his part to ensure they would not be disturbed any time soon. They deserved a few solid moments alone. Maintaining a romantic relationship was more difficult in separate houses, more challenging by far to find time for themselves than if they simply shared a dorm.
But Helios was well-worth the challenge, and his smile was all the reward Selene needed.
The fifth floor played host to a very private bathroom, reserved exclusively for prefect use. That was their destination tonight. If nothing else, this relationship taught Selene how to think outside the box in terms of creeping about the castle. Before tutoring Helios, he wouldn't have imagined sneaking someone into forbidden territory like this. Now? He'd do just about anything to get Helios alone.
"Strictly speaking, you're not allowed to be in here," Selene pressed a finger to his lips. "So this stays between us, alright?"
Past a rather bewildered-looking statue, a few doors further on, and Selene stopped to whisper the password and lead them inside.
"But it looked like you needed a warm bath tonight. Unknot some of those muscles?" Selene rested his hands on Helios' shoulders as the door locked behind them. "Nothing like hot water to loosen you up."
frick i realized i never hit enter on my tag and then the power going out ate my tag ;;
Selene? Breaking the rules for the both of them? Merlin's beard help them, truly Helios has seen it all now. He can't hide how surprised he is by his boyfriend's deviancy or how magnificent the prefect's private bathrooms were and makes no attempts to hide this surprise with his mouth open in awe. Selene's hands on his shoulders seem to snap him out of his stupor. Helios can't help but crane his neck to look back at the other. A soft smile clearly visible on his face.
"I'd like that," he leans forward, trying to catch the other's lips in a kiss. Brief at first as he pulls away.
"Thank you for thinking of me." He means it too. Not only is Selene brilliant in every sense of the word, but he's kind and thoughtful- especially when it comes to Helios. Sometimes, the Gryffindor feels like he doesn't deserve the Ravenclaw or that he hasn't done enough for the other. But the thoughts quickly leave his mind as he leans forward again for another kiss. This time deeper, the click of the lock had already long assured him that they wouldn't be disturbed.
Kisses like this were all the reward Selene needed, and that was perhaps the most intoxicating part of their relationship. They wanted each other; craved at times, but always such a keen and sincere need. Selene melted so readily into the attention, trailed his fingers beneath Helios' jawline to beckon him deeper, until his tongue slipped out to taste the other boy's lips. It was so familiar by now, and still so comforting. Here, there was love; perfect and simple and thrilling.
"I always think of you," Selene murmured against Helios' mouth. "I never stop."
With another parting kiss, Selene brushed his thumbs over Helios' cheeks and reluctantly slipped away. There were practical matters to attend to when baths were concerned. Starting the taps, warming the water, filling the tub -- or pool, in this case, accompanied by bubbles that smelled of lavender and sage -- and Selene went about them all with attentive ease, determined to return to Helios' arms sooner than later.
"I don't suppose you've been in here before? You'll never want to bathe anywhere else again."
